The Artisanal Software Society is a satirical project. It is not a real professional association. It does not provide professional certification, industry representation, or meaningful resistance to technological progress. No certificates issued by the Society confer qualifications, though several members have framed them anyway, which the Society respects.
Any resemblance to actual colleagues, living or on permanent on-call, is the entire point. If this website reminds you of a specific person, we recommend against forwarding it to them from your work account.

We do not collect your data. We lack the tooling, the inclination, and frankly the storage. What you type into our instruments stays in your browser, where it belongs.
Cookies: this site sets no cookies. Should cookies ever become necessary, they will be handcrafted, locally stored, and set in small batches.
Analytics: traffic was formerly estimated by feel. Following a motion carried 5–2, the building's landlord (Vercel, who also holds the keys) now operates a turnstile at the door. It counts visits and the pages they land on — without cookies, without names, and without following anyone home. The Society receives totals, in aggregate. The previous estimate ("modest but discerning") is retained in the minutes for comparison.
This website is plain HTML with system fonts and honest contrast, and is therefore more accessible than most things the Society has ever produced. This outcome was unintentional and the Society is coming to terms with it.
